In the heart of Ruby Country, boasts one of the busiest and largest livestock markets in the country. The Pannier Market makes the pretty town Square comes alive every Wednesday as visitors enjoy mingling with local people and farmers

Hatherleigh

A historic market town of thatch and cob cottages dating back to the 16th century, the perfect place to experience rural Devon life. Visit on Tuesday, Market day, for produce and crafts from around Devon and a general auction, where it is possible to pick up almost anything.

War Horse Valley Country Farm Park

Farmed by the same family for nearly 100 years and is the farm around which the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo was set, along with the parish of Iddesleigh. It was also once home to Revd John ‘Jack’ Russell, first breeder of the terriers to which he gives his name.
