The beautiful surrounding Devon countryside offers thatched cottages, lovely views, quiet villages and so much more within easy reach. Exmoor is nearby with waterfalls, walking, cycling, ponies and zoo.

The excellent Tarka Trail for more car-free cycling and walking is 30 miles of former railway, with cycle hire, running around the Taw estuary only 20 minutes away. Also within easy reach are the many superb beaches of the Golden Coast of North Devon, Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe, for sandcastles and surfing.

There are several excellent golf courses including the championship links course at Saunton. For more information on the surrounding golf courses click HERE. Other outdoor activities include fishing on the Taw, renowned gardens, National Trust properties and sleepy, unspoilt villages with inns.

The historic market town of South Molton, the "gateway to Exmoor" is nearby, with its regular markets, tea shops, restaurants, antique shops and swimming pool. Barnstaple is within easy reach, with its cinema, theatre, pannier market and variety of shops.
